Dave has been working in rehabilitation since 2014. He currently has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation and a diploma in Registered Massage Therapy from Langara College.

He normally sees all types of populations and conditions but has a particular interest in chronic pain management. He is dedicated in constantly updating his skillset through reading research papers and taking continuing education courses focusing on that goal.

As an RMT, Dave uses manual therapy alongside therapeutic movements to provide a meaningful experience during each appointment. His aim is to treat the person in their entirety not just their anatomy, catering each treatment to what each person resonates with the most.

Outside the clinic, you’ll see Dave enjoying strength and mobility training, cooking, golfing, dancing, and travelling. In the past, he’s been involved in activities ranging from competing internationally as the captain of SFU Cheerleading to recreational leagues for dodgeball and softball.

Davin received his UBC Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2014, and his UBC Bachelors of Kinesiology degree in 2011.

While at UBC, Davin competed at the national level for the UBC track & field team, and was an athletic trainer for the UBC soccer and hockey teams. After his Bachelors degree, he worked as a kinesiologist, primarily with Work-Safe BC and ICBC clients.

Over his career, Davin has worked with a diverse clientele ranging from young athletes to professionals, from stroke survivors, to those living with chronic disease. He has taken many post-graduate courses towards his Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy and is a certified IMS practitioner (dry needling). He has taken additional certifications in visceral manipulation, neurodynamics and nerve manipulation, athlete assessment and preventing running injuries.

Davin’s approach to physiotherapy begins with a respect for the experience of living with an injury or a chronic condition. He believes in assessing the body as a whole, identifying the areas of dysfunction that have led to compensation and injury, and then collaborating with his clients to address their specific goals for recovery. He believes that appropriately dosed exercise is the cornerstone to recovery, and uses manual therapy and IMS as his main adjuncts to treatment, in addition to myofascial tools/cupping, and electro-physical agents where appropriate.

Outside of work, Davin keeps busy with his young family and is currently working towards achieving his blue belt in jiu-jitsu, and running an injury-free half-marathon.
