While at UBC, Davin competed at the national level for the UBC track & field team, and was an athletic trainer for the UBC soccer and hockey teams. After his Bachelors degree, he worked as a kinesiologist, primarily with Work-Safe BC and ICBC clients.
Over his career, Davin has worked with a diverse clientele ranging from young athletes to professionals, from stroke survivors, to those living with chronic disease. He has taken additional certifications in visceral manipulation, neurodynamics and nerve manipulation, athlete assessment and preventing running injuries.
Davin’s approach to physiotherapy begins with a respect for the experience of living with an injury or a chronic condition. He believes in assessing the body as a whole, identifying the areas of dysfunction that have led to compensation and injury, and then collaborating with his clients to address their specific goals for recovery. He believes that appropriately dosed exercise is the cornerstone to recovery, and uses manual therapy and IMS as his main adjuncts to treatment, in addition to myofascial tools/cupping, and electro-physical agents where appropriate.
Outside of work, Davin keeps busy with his young family and is currently working towards achieving his blue belt in jiu-jitsu, and running an injury-free half-marathon.
